Ivana Karásková, an analyst at the Supply Chain Resilience Center (SCRC), visited Taiwan in late April and early May to represent the joint initiative of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and National Chengchi University (NCCU). The visit had a strong professional focus and included a series of expert meetings and public engagements.
As part of the programme, she met with partners from NCCU and with Professor Hung from National Taiwan University (NTU). She gave a presentation at a public event organised by the Czech Hub in Taiwan on Chinese influence in Europe, which was attended by around twenty participants from the academic and professional community. She also held a closed-door discussion with Isis Lee, Vice President of Radio Taiwan International (RTI), and her team, and gave an in-depth interview for RTI, which will be published in the coming days. She also gave a short interview to International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT).
Karásková also met with representatives of NextGen Taiwan – a platform of young political scientists and students that cooperates with Taiwan’s major political parties on selected legislative initiatives – and held talks with a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) responsible for parliamentary affairs.
The visit contributed to strengthening ties between Czech and Taiwanese institutions and reaffirmed the importance of research in the field of supply chain resilience and monitoring the influence of authoritarian regimes in the European space.
