SCRC Director David Emler and Professor Dr. Yih-Chyi Chuang Present Supply Chain Resilience Project to Former Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen

On 15th of October, David Emler, Director of the Supply Chain Resilience Center (SCRC) at Charles University, and renowned Taiwanese economist, Professor Dr. Yih-Chyi Chuang, had the privilege of presenting the center’s flagship project to former Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen. The meeting underscored the project’s pivotal role in enhancing global supply chain resilience, particularly in light of recent global disruptions.

The Supply Chain Resilience Center (SCRC) focuses on identifying vulnerabilities and fostering solutions to ensure more sustainable and robust supply chains across industries, including crucial sectors such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and energy. The project, supported by leading academic and industry experts, emphasizes risk management, technological innovation, and strategic collaboration on a global scale. With Taiwan being a key player in the global semiconductor industry, the discussion explored opportunities for greater cooperation between Taiwan and the Czech Republic, with the aim of fostering technological independence, economic security, and sustainable development.

Former President Tsai Ing-wen expressed her strong support for the initiative, recognizing the vital importance of resilient supply chains in maintaining global economic stability and security. She also highlighted the potential for deeper collaboration between Taiwan and Europe, particularly in areas of technological exchange and mutual strategic interests.

The SCRC is committed to expanding international partnerships and driving innovation to address current and future challenges within global supply chains. By promoting resilience and sustainability, the center aims to mitigate risks and ensure that key industries can adapt to rapidly changing geopolitical and economic environments.
