On May 19, 2026, the Czech Investment Forum as part of the Czech Semicondays 2026 and organized by the CzechInvest, took place with SCRC serving as one of the event’s expert partners. The forum brought together leading representatives from academia, industry, and public institutions to discuss current developments and strategic opportunities in high-tech innovation and investment.

Among the prominent speakers was SCRC’s distinguished guest, Prof. Jack Y.-C. Sun, a renowned expert with more than 40 years of experience in semiconductor research and development. During his exceptional career, he has served, among other roles, as CTO of TSMC and Head of Research at IBM. Prof. Sun has made significant contributions to the development of CMOS technologies, 3D transistor structures, and the concept of 3Dx3D system scaling. He currently serves as Dean of the Industry-Academia Innovation School and Senior Vice President at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. At the forum, Prof. Sun delivered a keynote lecture entitled The Road to Effective Industry-Academia Collaboration, where he shared valuable insights into successful cooperation models between research institutions and industry partners.

SCRC was also represented by researchers Assoc. Prof. Viktor Květoň from the Faculty of Science, CUNI and Assoc. Prof. Jana Vlčková from the Prague University of Economics and Business, who presented their research titled “Knowledge Dynamics and Technological Relatedness in the European Semiconductor Industry.”

The event was a great success and provided an excellent platform for inspiring discussions, knowledge exchange, and international networking.
