Prof. Sung Participates in Roundtable at the Faculty of Law, Charles University

Our leading researcher at the SCRC, Prof. Sung, participated today, April 14th, as the main speaker at the round table discussion titled “Possible problems and potential solutions for Czech companies seeking IP protection in Taiwan.” The event was organized by the Center for Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law, Charles University.

At the roundtable, Prof. Sung spoke about key challenges and legal specifics of intellectual property protection in Taiwan. He highlighted Taiwan’s current debates over the “right to repair,” especially in the automotive industry, and presented the ongoing legal case of Daimler v. DEPO Auto Parts as a case study. He also addressed emerging concerns around copyright protection for AI-generated content and Taiwan’s trade secret law, emphasizing the need for balance between innovation and legal enforcement.
