Press Release: Expert Seminar on Supply Chain Risk Issues in the Semiconductor Industry

Prague, March 6, 2025 – The Supply Chain Resilience Center (SCRC) of Charles University, in cooperation with CzechInvest, hosted the expert seminar “Supply Chain Risk Issues in the Semiconductor Industry” at Karolinum, Prague 1, Staré Město. The event convened leading industry professionals, academics, and policymakers to explore key challenges and strategies for enhancing semiconductor supply chain resilience.

 

The keynote speaker, Prof. Sri Talluri, a distinguished economist and supply chain expert from Michigan State University, shared his extensive expertise in supply chain risk management. Ranked among the top 20 researchers worldwide in data envelopment analysis and in the top 1% of scholars in operations management, Prof. Talluri provided a comprehensive analysis of semiconductor supply chain vulnerabilities. His lecture addressed geopolitical risks, supplier relationships, sustainability, and the role of technology in mitigating disruptions.

 

MBA Petr Knap, Senior Advisor at Ernst & Young, offered corporate-sector insights on risk management in semiconductor supply chains. He underscored the importance of data-driven decision-making, predictive modeling, and strategic investments in building a more resilient and adaptable global semiconductor network. His presentation equipped attendees with practical tools for navigating industry complexities.

 

The seminar concluded with a dynamic panel discussion, fostering dialogue between experts and stakeholders on collaborative solutions to strengthen supply chain resilience. SCRC and CzechInvest reaffirmed their commitment to advancing research and policy initiatives that support a more robust semiconductor industry in the Czech Republic and beyond.
